The VR London App
The VR London App is an Android and soon iOS mobile application which enables users to visit the most famous sights of the city of London in a 360° Virtual Reality experience. The app also includes a guided tour for each of these sites, available in several languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Chinese, French to come soon). It will also offer the possibility to attend exclusive events and/or live events in London.
The technology applied here is a way for people to discover an exciting city (whether they have been to London before or not) from a different perspective, but with a very realistic approach.
How to use The VR App?
VR Users
I believe the customer base would be quite a large age range (16 - 50 years old) and this app would apply to people in Europe or all around the world who are not able to travel physically or who do not have the means to take a flight and spend time in an expensive city like London. It could also target people who are simply interested in seeing London through a different means such as Virtual Reality or to get to know more about the history of the city, or for people who wish to prepare a trip to London in the future.
Travelling, discovering new places and especially exploring famous places like London, is something many people wish to do worldwide. Through this app I am offering the possibility to travel with virtual reality, prepare trips, or let people relive their London experiences once had. Moreover, in the current context of the Coronavirus pandemic, this business model is deemed to be successful given the lockdown and travel restrictions imposed worldwide at different degrees.
The user will need to provide his own VR headsets, which I will not be selling, however this app also works on a phone or tablet without a VR headset. For a full experience, I however recommend the VR headsets.
The user will have to create an account with mandatory login details (social media, email or telephone number) and passwords before using any of the features included in this application. This will enable the user to have permanent access to the sites, audioguide or events already purchased.
Free mobile application
This mobile application is free to download. Some of the products I am offering within the app will however require a minimum amount:
- Visualising most London sites in the app is free.
There is a minimal amount to unlock the Hyde Park site which is either US$1 or we require that the user share the application on a social media of their choice (Facebook or Twitter).
The user will be asked to contribute US$5 in order to unlock the audioguide (in any one language they select). The US$5 covers the audioguide for ALL the sites, which represents approximately 1,5 hours of audio. We must also note that, should the user pay for the audio guide, the Hyde Park site will automatically unlock (they do not need to pay and additional US$1 or share the app on social media).
- The events and/or live events will also require a minimum amount, which will be determined with the event organisers in questions.
In order to unlock the features described above, the user should be able to pay in their own currency through a reliable and safe gateway payment.
